Donde estan los banos?

One of the most exciting things that has happened to me in the month since I got back (My God, learning Spanish and sitting in cafes chatting to Emma in Cuzco seems like another lifetime ago, it really does): A few days ago I got an email from my lovely University who have taken it upon themselves to give me £3000 to cover tuition fees if I don’t get AHRC funding for my masters. And I didn’t even have to fill in a single form or anything. Free money, woohoo! To celebrate I have been going out and buying far too many CDs and clothes and things.

One of the second most exciting things that has happened to me has been the discovery of a place called ‘Snodland’ in Kent.

One of the least exciting things has been singing with the New Buckenham church choir, which was so dire that I almost wanted to kill myself. Warbley out-of-tune sopranos, deaf old men, no blend at all, the lot. It was terrible. Plans are afoot however to find a much better choir in Norwich, and hopefully I won’t get roped into any more Parish singing. Or Parish hand-belling, for that matter.

Which about sums things up. Oh well. Hugely looking forward to going back to RHUL now, for reasons upon reasons, the biggest of which is so I can actually just have a life again (Banham is both exceedingly boring and lonely: a plea for some love here if you wish to give me any). But the end of September is rather a long way away. In the shorter term, however, Sam is coming back to Norfolk at the end of this week (hurrah!) and then Rob and I are going to Copenhagen for the jazz festival again (hurrah!) and then hopefully after that I’ll be able to get out a bit and visit people (hurrah!). A few things to look forward to.

Some nonsensical sentences in Spanish:
Quiero comer el queso azul. Pero que puedo acer con mi perro? No esta llevando zapatos, y solo tiene uno calcetin. Voy a volvar a la luna este miercoles para una merienda. Quieres venir conmigo? Puedes ocultar en mi bolsillo.
