Some exciting things about going back to RHUL:
1. Actually having a life again.
2. Friends who will be at least within an hours traveling distance (and, of course, hopefully much closer once I make some new ones - but it’ll be wonderful to have Tessa, Aaron, Rob, Thom, Emma and hopefully at some point Rachel all in London together).
3. Good music - Andean band and gamelan and numerous choirs and anything else I can get my hands on - which after a year of dire parish singing and hand-belling and reggaeton and not much else I’m missing dreadfully.
4. Independence.
5. Pianos I can play on without being interrupted by my mum.
6. An exciting course (I hope). Learning again, and having to actually think (something that M&S and data entry don’t require much of).
7. Being a student once more.
8. No stressed out parents.
9. Windsor Great Park
10. Henry Stobart.
11. Fun.
12. Men - they may all be gay or bastards, but they’re still men.
13. Being able to challenge myself - as this, I firmly believe, is the only way that anyone gets anywhere.
I can’t wait. Eight months at home has really not done me any good, at all. I need to start having some fun again before I lose it completely. Three weeks to go!
Quote of the Week comes from Stephen, in the middle of conducting hand-belling last Sunday: ‘And what are all these little squiggly things under the notes?’
‘…They’re rests.’
(Although I do like this one from Roald Dahl: ‘A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.’ Hurrah!)
